Family of citizens or PRs
Check the relevant ICA route and the family relationship and sponsorship conditions that apply.
Family of work-pass holders
MOM’s LTVP route depends on the work-pass holder meeting the relevant sponsorship requirements.
Renewing an existing pass
Check the issuing authority, validity and current renewal instructions. Do not assume a renewal is automatic.

ICA route
Check an eligible family relationship to a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, and the relevant ICA applicant category. Use ICA’s checklist for applicant and sponsor records.
MOM route
Check MOM’s sponsorship conditions for the work-pass holder and the eligible family relationship. Employer or employment-agent involvement may be required. Use MOM’s route-specific checklist.
Holding an LTVP or LTVP+ does not automatically permit unrestricted work. Check work permission arrangements.

Agree your scope in writing
Confirm who prepares, reviews and submits each part, the number of review rounds and what happens if the authority requests more information.
Translations, external verification, government fees, appeals and later renewals should be separately identified where they are outside the agreed scope.

Renew through the authority that issued the pass.
ICA advises applying at least three months before expiry; its remaining pass validity is not carried forward. MOM’s usual renewal window begins six months before expiry, with three-month windows for specified sponsorship / EntrePass categories. MOM renewal duration is limited by the main pass or requested duration.

LTVP application and renewal questions
Should I apply through ICA or MOM?
This depends on your relationship and sponsor status. Family of citizens or PRs may use an eligible ICA route; family of eligible work-pass holders may use MOM’s route.
Can an LTVP+ holder work without permission?
Do not assume unrestricted work rights. Eligible ICA-issued LTVP/LTVP+ holders may work under LOC or PLOC arrangements, subject to the relevant conditions.
How long will processing take?
Timing depends on the issuing authority and application category. Check the current official route guidance; a single six-week promise is not appropriate for every application.
Who needs to provide documents?
Both applicant and sponsor may need to supply identity, relationship and other records. The checklist depends on the route.
Can I renew the pass?
Check the issuing authority’s renewal instructions and current eligibility. Begin with the existing pass details and allow time for any requested documents.
