What's the difference between S-Pass and EP?
S-Pass is for mid-skilled workers (technicians, supervisors) with a minimum salary of S$3,150, while Employment Pass is for professionals and executives earning at least S$5,600 and requiring COMPASS scoring. S-Pass is subject to employer quota and levy; EP is not.
What is the employer quota for S-Pass?
Services sector employers can hire S-Pass holders up to 10% of their total workforce. Manufacturing and construction sectors have a 15% cap. Employers must check their available quota before applying.
Can S-Pass holders bring family?
Yes, if you earn S$6,000 or more per month. You can apply for a Dependant's Pass for your spouse and children under 21.
Can S-Pass holders apply for PR?
Yes. S-Pass holders are eligible to apply for Singapore Permanent Residency. Working and contributing in Singapore for at least 6 months strengthens your application.
How long does S-Pass processing take?
Typically 3–4 weeks after submission. Processing may take longer if MOM requests additional documents or information.
