How to Check Your Work Pass Status in Singapore

Waiting on a work pass and want to know where it stands? You can check the status of an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit online in under a minute. This guide shows you exactly where to check, what you need, and what each status means, whether you are the applicant, the employer, or an agent.

Quick answer: Check your work pass status for free on MOM’s “Check Work Pass and Application Status” eService at service2.mom.gov.sg/workpass/enquiry, with no login. Select the pass type, enter the date of birth and either the FIN or passport number, and submit. Employers and agents check and manage passes through EP Online (for EP and S Pass) or WP Online / WPOL (for Work Permits), now moving into the myMOM Portal, using Corppass.

MOM is consolidating its work pass systems into the myMOM Portal, so EP Online and WP Online are increasingly accessed there. The free public eService remains the quickest way for an individual to check.

How to check without a login (individuals)

The fastest route for a candidate or their family:

  1. Go to service2.mom.gov.sg/workpass/enquiry.
  2. Select the pass type: Work Permit, S Pass, or Employment Pass.
  3. Enter the applicant’s date of birth.
  4. Enter the FIN (from the IPA letter or pass) or the passport number used in the application.
  5. Complete the CAPTCHA and submit.

The status appears immediately. No Singpass or Corppass is required.

EP Online and WP Online (WPOL) for employers

If you are the employer or an appointed employment agent, you manage passes through MOM’s business portals, logging in with Corppass:

  • EP Online for Employment Pass and S Pass applications, renewals, issuance, and cancellations.
  • WP Online (WPOL) for Work Permit applications and administration.

Both are now reached through the myMOM Portal. From there you can check status, download the In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter, and complete issuance.

If your result is “approved”, the next step is the IPA letter. See our guide on how to check your IPA status for what to verify on it.

What you need before you check

  • Pass type (Work Permit, S Pass, or Employment Pass).
  • Date of birth of the applicant.
  • FIN (from the IPA or pass) or passport number used in the application.

If you do not have the FIN, the passport number with the date of birth works.

Common problems

  • “No record found”: recheck the date of birth, FIN, and passport number, or wait a day or two if just submitted.
  • No FIN yet: ask your employer or agent, who receives the IPA first.
  • Name or date mismatch: notify your employer so MOM can correct the records before the holder travels.

After your pass is approved

Once approved, the holder completes issuance: entering Singapore on the IPA, any medical examination, registration, and collecting the pass card. The FIN on the card is what you use for all future status checks. For work-pass holders who plan to settle here, an Employment Pass or S Pass can later support a Singapore PR application under the PTS scheme.
